Home - Get Connected - News - Help Save A Life As  St. Anthony’s Hospital in Warwick continues their effort to collect blood, which will be used for their patients, please remember that each and every one of us has the potential to save someone’s life.  The good news is that we have scheduled 11 donors, so far.  We would like to meet, if not exceed, St. Anthony’s challenge to have at least 2 donors per week from each of the churches in the Warwick area.  We’re all set for the next two Saturdays (1/21 and 1/28), but we’ve still got several dates(including Thursdays) that are wide open.  Days of donation: Thursdays: 12 noon – 5:30 p.m. OR Saturdays: 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. (Times are slotted for each church, so please do not go without an appointment).  

Please contact Donna Filipowski or home office at 845.258.4702 (before 7:30 p.m. please). Some of you have inquired about medications that you are on and whether you would be allowed to donate.  Here is a list from from St. Anthony's  of forbidden drugs:  Proscar, Avodart, Propecia, Accutane, Soriatane, Tegison, growth hormone from human pituitary glands, Insulin from Cows, Hepatitis B Immune Globulin (given following an exposure to Hepatitis B – NOT the same as the 3-stage vaccine injections),  Plavix, Feldene, and any experimental medication or unlicensed (experimental) vaccine.  If a donor was taking one of these medications, but has stopped, please email Pat for the deferral period.
